Day 10 ~ Generated Poems ~ Just for fun!! “30 Poems in 30 Days” #NationalPoetryMonth

OK, let’s just have some fun today – did you know there are all kinds of interactive poem generators out there? Well, there are – some silly, some helpful, all surprising. So, I entered some random parts of speech, etc. as outlined below and then I clicked on “generate my poem” and voila’ ~ I got that CRAZY poem below ~ but you can try any number of poetry generators – you can find the links to several of them below and see what comes up – this is a fun one to do with kids. Enjoy and if you come up with one you like – share away!! Cheers!!

https://www.poem-generator.org.uk/ ~ 9 poetry forms available
http://oakdome.com/k5/lesson-plans/word/i-am-poem.php ~ 11 poetry form generators can be found in the left-hand column (if you don’t see them, then click on the bar that says “poem generators”).

I used the first poetry generated listed above and this nonsense “love poem” is the result. OH, MY HECK! Silly, but you might want to try to be serious and see what you get – OR use a different generator from the list above..

Here are the random words I put in:

Musical Instrument: violin
Type of Animal: turtle
Type of Bird: bowerbird

Uh, so – this had random words and so it’s kind of a nonsense poem but funny!!!

My Love, Jim

Your skin glows like the mango, blossoms funny as the daisy
in the purest hope of spring.
My yearning heart rises to your violin voice and leaps like a turtle
at the whisper of your name, Jim.
The evening ascends in on a great bowerbird wing.
I am calmed by your shirt that I carry into the twilight of
spoonbeams and hold next to my elbow.
I am filled with hope that I may dry your tears of apple juice.
As my lips fall from my shoes, it reminds me of your dinner.
In the hushed, I listen for the last whisper of the spring.
My heated neck leaps to my dress. I wait in the crystal moonlight for your
secret paper so that we may sleep as one, neck to neck, in search of
the glorious purple and spiritual cabbage of love.

Day 14 ~ “All About Me Poem” for “30 Poems in 30 Days” #NationalPoetryMonth

All About Me Poem ~ a mini autobiographical poem

Here’s a fun little poem I think you will enjoy – I do believe poetry comes from the heart – but there is more than one way to reach into your heart. Questioning is always helpful in finding things out. Sometimes, when we answer questions, we find things out about ourselves we had not given much thought to before. So, this poem is called "All About Me" ~ just answer the questions and voila’ ~ you've created a poem!! Pretty cool and tonz’ of fun, especially with kids.

The “All About Me” poem can be deep and insightful or fun and silly. You can do it over and over, answering the questions from a different perspective. Enjoy!!

Here is the format:
