HERE ARE MY EXAMPLES - for what they're worth :)
The first one is silly:
What if I went back inside and sat down?
I wonder, would you be so bold, if it were you?
HERE ARE MY EXAMPLES - for what they're worth :)
The first one is silly:
What if I danced in the rain?
I might get a little bit wet.
What if I sang at the top of my lungs?
I could land a singing contract, I bet.
What if I went back inside and sat down?
I would never know what I might do.
I wonder, would you be so bold, if it were you?

This one is more serious:
What if I listened very carefully to the spirit?
I might be surprised at what I hear.
I might be surprised at what I hear.
What if the Lord has plans I'm not ready for?
I could try to pretend I didn't hear them.
I could try to pretend I didn't hear them.
What if I listened and obeyed?
I would be more use to His children.
I would be more use to His children.
Do you think I'm that strong?

Here's another "silly" one:
What if I bought that new dress?
I might need a good reason.
What if I lost a few pounds?
I could fit into it then.
What if I ignored the exorbitant price?
I would still know it was foolish.
Who needs that ol’ dress, anyway?

What if my life had been perfect ?
I might never have found my husband
What if we had only had two children?
I could only have two grandchildren
What if we had stayed in California?
I would not have the close family and friends I do now
Would I want anything different?
What if I counted my blessings each day
I might be more thankful for all Lord has given me.
What if I were an angel
I could have the wish of mine heart.
What if I listened with an open mind and heart
I would hear the whisperings of the still small voice.
Will I hear “Well done thou good and faithful daughter’?
Nice, Mary!! This has been so great to see what everyone has come up with. Of course, they haven't all been posted here, but thanks for sharing yours!!
What if i had ears ?
I might listen and understand
What if i had arms?
I could lend a helping hand
What if i had feet?
I would do more than just stand
What if you had all, and didn't help a soul?
@ "Anonymous" - great poem!!
Is this a good poem? Help me, I need constructive criticism.
What if today was the last day of my life?
I might do everything i ever wanted to do.
What if I didn't think about tomorrow and focused on enjoying today?
I could do anything.
What if when tomorrow came along, I was happy to go?
I would be grateful that I lived my life the best I could.
What if it were that easy?
I know it sounds cheesy, but tell me if it's good because I need to write a " What If..." poem for my English class.
Anonymous:
No, it's not too cheesy - it could be "tightened up" a little. I'm assuming you checked the box to get an email follow-up if there was a reply or you are checking this so - it might be easier if you emailed me and let me know what grade level you're in and who soon the poem is due. If you want to - I can help you a little over the email. I'm a former school teacher (including 8th grade Eng)so let me know:
