DAY TWENTY!! "Gratitude or Prayer Poem" ~ "30 Poems in 30 Days" for #NationalPoetryMonth

How to write a Gratitude or Prayer Poem ~
Since today is Easter Sunday, how about choosing any of the poetry forms we have tried so far, including free verse, and creating a poem of gratitude? Or write a prayer in the form of a poem.

The options are limitless. It might be fun to try out several different poetry forms and see what you can come up with.

Here are 3 of my Examples:

5W’s ~

Jesus Christ, our elder brother
Died for us and atoned for our sins,
Upon the cross at Calvary,
Two thousand years ago,
Because he loves us.

Triplet (3 lines, same # of syllables, all ending words rhyme)

There no words to express,
Gratitude and thankfulness,
You give your all, nothing less.

Quatrain with ABCB pattern (all same beat, only lines 2 & 4 rhyme)

I often sit and ponder
On the blessings sent to me
Can I ever be worthy?
I thank thee so fervently.

Because of Him I think
Of all the blessings He gives
While of the water I drink
And eat the bread, He lives!

He atoned for all my sins,
And died upon the cross
So I can live again
My soul will not be lost.

I guess this is Free Verse:

Father,

These words are for those
Who were raised in darkness,
Who did not have mothers
Who taught them to pray,

For those raised to think
That after death comes oblivion,
Where no light shines
And life is not,

For those who never knew
Thy Son and all He did for them,
Who have not sensed His love
Which passeth all understanding,

For these I pray, ever hopeful
That one day they will learn
That only in His name
May they return to Thee,

Father.
